Hello! It has been a challenging and inspiring new year!
We have been working extremely hard on new product development. As a result we have completed 3 new sets including: “Absolutely Addition”, “Simply Subtraction”, and “Definitely Drawing and Watercolor”. We also received an interesting letter in the mail stating that Rock N Go LLC’s “So Skip Counting” set won The National Parenting Center Seal of Approval Award for 2009! Wow! We shared tears of joy after so much work, and realizing our product was tested on a national level and won an award. This is amazingly great news considering we will be in a national catalogue, The Museum Tour Catalogue, in September 2009. We want to thank you for your interest and support. Local Children’s Educational Company Wins National Recognition!
Rock N Go LLC’s first product, “So Skip Counting” CD and companion workbook recently received The National Parenting Center Seal of Approval Award for 2009. The National Parenting Center (TNPC.com) states that, “The concept of Skip Counting might not be familiar to many but it has proven that it can be a great asset to children who are learning multiplication. This Book and Musical CD set was viewed by our testers as being very creative in the manner it presented the material. The tunes on the CD were very catchy and even induced some to get up and dance while counting. Any method that learning fun gets high marks from most parents and this was no exception.”
Heather Lewis and Cheryl Miller of Williamston, Michigan created the Rock N Go LLC concept. Our unique hand-drawn sketch book with watercolor instruction is complete with a creativity-inspiring music CD to innovatively provide a method for the right-brain/creative mode shift, sketch pad, and watercolor pencils.
Our products were developed out of frustration at not finding vibrant, on-the-go, challenging, and developmentally appropriate products to teach fluency and accuracy in math facts and skip counting. Being busy mothers ourselves, always on- the- go and in our cars transporting our children, we wanted materials to utilize this often wasted time... materials that would give children serious practice for the development of solid, fluent, and accurate recall of basic math facts and skip counting. Rock N Go LLC reviewed National Council of Teachers of Mathematics standards as well as the Michigan Grade Level Content Expectations to create products that would support the standards and principles set forth by educational policy-makers. We also consulted teachers, parents, musicians, a Math/Literacy coordinator and of course lots of children to refine our products and guide our future developments.
